Marlene Morris was a stellar wife and mother raising three children in Orange County, California when she received a call to the ministry in her thirties. She continued raising her children as she delved into Religious Science. Naturally gifted in speaking and listening she was licensed in 1986 and began serving her congregation as Senior Minister at SpiritWorks! Center for Spiritual Living in Burbank California in January 1987. In her capacity as Sr. Minister she spoke at three regularly scheduled weekly services, taught classes in relevant spirituality, wrote for various newsletters and publications, and created innovative, groundbreaking programs in spirituality for her church. She has served the United Church of Religious Science in many capacities, most notably as President of the Church during a period of transition in 1995 and as Vice President for the greater Los Angeles Area for nearly five years. She has taught at two of the denomination's campuses, has created workshops and programs for churches throughout the movement, and has both contributed to and edited denominational curriculum. Rev. Morris graduated from Ministerial College in 1986, was ordained in 1989 and was awarded a Doctorate of Divinity in 2000. Reverend Marlene has taught, inspired, and mentored many who now serve as ministers in other Religious Science churches. She can be considered as a dynamic leader in her field. After 20 years of energetic service, she has resigned from her daily duties to concentrate on a ministry that is global in scope and reaches deeply into the world.
Reverend Marlene Morris is a dynamic and sought-after speaker and seminar leader. A popular keynote speaker at many conferences and conventions, she has also appeared on several television shows and has hosted her own radio show.
She is now offering her talents to the world in the form of workshops, retreats, specialty weekends, lectures, courses, audio tapes and ultimately her own syndicated television ministry slated for air in 2008. |
